I love the first picture. It is just beautiful. To me it surpasses any flowery scenes. I have looked up close. The reflection of the bale in the water next to the blue of the sky… I wonder who lives underneath. There is a little piece of red in the water by the bank. I don’t know what it is but it fits. The cattle gently feeding in the background with the fence leaning maybe tilted by a persistent wind. The bird’s nest now exposed in the treetop. The left over fall colors blended and smudged in the distance. I really like it.

I am as attracted to the ordinary as I am to the stunningly beautiful, but probably look more closely at the ordinary. The photo seemed to fit the poem, as well as any could.

Those words just get in the way sometimes, don’t they? 🙂

Very lovely picture! I’ve moved a few of those over the years, but rarely appreciated the simple beauty. Thanks for the reminder!

The photo is from morguefile.com, and seemed somehow appropriate to the tone of this abstract piece.

The picture and the poem both, I find to be wonderful. Coming from the prairies, the picture sort of draws forth feelings of warmth and comfort that are simply reinforced by the words that encompass the picture.

Thanks very much. I enjoy pairing poems with photos, often finding odd combinations that somehow seem appropriate.
