I felt like this before the reading, but loosened up a bit and enjoyed it. I read ten poems, five from my chapbook, If Your Matter Could Reform, three unpublished pieces, and two that have appeared or are about to appear in publications.
The recording may be found on the Malvern Books YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmPg_0W0oNw
And please take the time to view Chip Dameron’s reading. He’s a fine poet, very engaging.
Very nice Sir!

Thank you, Mary. The poems sometimes demand more attention, even after they’re published and I consider them done!

Your poems don’t berate you late at night?

I’m confused by the grammar. Did you mean:
“The poems sometimes demand more attention, even after they’re published I DON’T consider them done” ?

Hi Robert,
Thank you for sharing this. It was great to see you read your poems, and more importantly to catch a glimpse of the wonderful man behind them! I’m encouraged by your own ability to plow through the fear and hesitancy and turn things over fully to the desire to share…

You’re very generous Michael. In the end it was enjoyable, and I’m pleased to be able to share the reading with my friends who couldn’t attend.

CJ said the reading was great! I couldn’t hear either Chip or you because of my hearing. Maybe someday I’ll get hearing aids, but vanity being what it is, I doubt it. I can’t even hear it on the YouTube presentation. Still, we had a fantastic time watching you strut your stuff only a few feet away. But do you always sweat that much?!! *hehe* Just kidding!

Oh, was I supposed to read aloud?
And as far as sweating goes, you ain’t seen nothing yet. And you should hope that you don’t.

I’m certain that our spouses would enjoy such a contest. Well, maybe not.

Yeah, CJ never has been much for the jockey strap smell. Oh! Isn’t the plural of spouse…spice? Look it up for me, please? My Google finger is worn to a frazzle. 🙂

Reading them oneself and hearing them read by the author- two completely different experiences, though complementary. Many thanks for giving us the chance to get the second.
