In Praise of Gravity
Which bestows weight
or slings me around
some other heavenly
body, a version of you
wondering whether
I’ll rise from my next
plummet, victim of
curvature and infinite
range held in place,
attractive in nature,
bent perhaps and
scarred, proud to have
survived but never wiser.
Cleansed, we continue
our orbit, our mirrored fall.
This made its first appearance on the blog about a year ago, and is also included in my chapbook, If Your Matter Could Reform, which Dink Press published in April.
Wow! 🙂

Ha. That has happened to me before- reading the same book or watching the same film without realising it till some way in.

I have purchased the same book twice on multiple occasions, only to realize, after reading 20 or so pages, that not only have I read the book, but I also still own the first copy I bought. Groan.

Great stuff! I am ashamed that for all this time you’ve been giving my work props I had never gotten around to visiting your blog. I particularly like this piece.

Hi, Robert! In Praise of Gravity is a “particularly” nice work and I’ve loved the humor in your replies!

A few more copies of Heron Clan III sold at our latest reading at Regulator Books in Durham, NC. How have you been?

Glad to hear it, Doug. Due to various factors, the fall has not been as productive as I’d planned. But things are looking up!
