Sometimes that “too far” has little to do with distance. 🙂 I hadn’t thought about riverSedge in years, but last spring I noticed that they were accepting submissions. And here we are!

I figured that. Your poetry is too special to be ignored. I’m just glad you took that walk that lead you back to where you once had that seed of thought. Love the poem. I’ve had to pass through barbed wire too often…shredded a lot of good pants!

At that time, publication was something to dream of. I believe I submitted to them only once back then, and it was deservedly rejected. When I saw their call for submissions last year, I was pleased to find that they were still in existence, and thought “maybe now.” 🙃

We had to lug quite a haul of stuff uphill and over the fence. I got the tractor and carried everything to the house in the front end loader. The last load was a jug of scotch, a watermelon, my mandolin and a baguette. I wish I’d had a camera that day!

It was a regift to my wife from a coworker. Not the best scotch in the world, but the price was right.
