All the Little Pieces
How to rewind
broken,
the subtle shift of shard
and floor
laid between night’s
fall
and the morning’s first
glow. Take this
lantern. Set it
on the wall. Remove
the glass. Do not
light the candle.
Wait.

Robert Carlos Williams? π Very nice minimalist/imagist poem, Bob! More lyrical than I normally find them, with its alliteration(s) that flirt with being lilting (second stanza in particular). WTG, RO!

Or is that William Carlos Okaji? Ha! Sometimes ya gotta play. I had fun with this one.

Yeah, that’s even better! As ee cummings intimated: ‘homo ludens’ [with emphasis on the ‘play’ translation] π

Thank you, Barbara. I enjoy pairing photos to poems. These, like most of the photos I use, are from morguefile.com.

Lovely Robert. The subject is dark, happens in darkness, too but the feel of the poem is calm and light. How do you do that?

Oh, I dunno. The light is already there, waiting to appear…

Robert – just wow. Simply fascinating how you connect inanimate objects with life and universal meaning. I wish I could pull things like this out of my head and arrange them in words like you do. Wish you the best in 2017! π

Thanks for thinking of me, Karen, but I’ve elected to not accept blog awards – I simply don’t have the time to participate fully. But I do sincerely appreciate the sentiment. By the way, your comment was sent to my spam folder. I haven’t a clue why, but thought you should know.

It’s fine, that’s why I didn’t put the rules on there. I did it for fun and just to promote those whose blogs I like.
Probably got sent there because of the link.
Depends how u have your comments section for ur site set up.βΊππ
