Wren has a lot of silence to divert, and he’s opened his wings to a brilliant future! You are amazing, Sir Robert!

well you’ve certainly hopped & now your skipping so prepare for the jump because i think once you landed that jump a red calendar day is going to have your name on it & i have an idea for a fire works display that spells “Words conceal what the night cannot.” now all i need to do is get an American work Visa…(on second thoughts, maybe i’ll have to sell the rights to the idea, that Trump!.)
that line Robert is so pure, that is the poetry i have often extolled the virtues of to you, those rare moments in even the greatest poems, that you couldn’t fill a poem with, because it just might murder the over sensitive with joy.

Thank you, Daniel. Now that is one fireworks display I’d like to see!

actually its a Tom Wait’s quote from the song Swordfishtrombones, “he came home from the war with a party in his head & an idea for a fireworks display” which i always thought an unconventional thing to have in mind. sorry to disappoint. i’ve never even lit a firework.

Good work. I liked them all, but the Henry Lee poem creeped me right out.

It is the creepiest poem I’ve ever written. My wife said she wasn’t sure she wanted to sleep in the same bed as the person who wrote that poem. 😳

HA HA HA! I’ve written things that have received a similar response!

It was written in response to an article written by a poetry editor about what NOT to write and submit to journals (syrupy poems of childhood memories, grandmothers, gardens, etc. – the typical cliches). So of course I felt compelled to write a poem using those elements. 🙃
