  1. Your poem directs us to say what we mean,
    really mean.
Is it enough to say of these verses
    “how enjoyable”?
    I mean it, after all,
    but it doesn’t say enough.
    Is “not enough” okay?
Is it really what I mean?
    Oh, the dilemma
    expressing oneself with words!

  2. Loved this piece, Robert! There’s a certain trepidation with getting that honest that I think ultimately is a hesitation to look at something we fear. So we play these games, and skid along the surface… Until one of your poems grabs us and pulls us under!

    Peace
    Michael
