About

A poet considers the intersections of language and numbers, connections between disparate entities – the currents stirring within the Phoenician iteration of our letter M and the Japanese character for water, mizu, or the intertwined strands of solar wind and shadows, black-chinned hummingbirds and  coastal death rituals – all, of course, while contemplating good food and that most magnificent of elixirs, beer, which may have been the very foundation of civilization. Or not.

  1. Thank you so much for your generous and consistent likes on my poetry blog, Sir. I’m new to this whole blogging jazz and your support is extremely encouraging 😊 I’m humbled that you take the time to like my work. I read your poem about The Chipotle and I love the idea which you have captured in it. The image of a knife parting the core of an onion and “reclaiming the right to weep” in Self Portrait with a Knife also stood out to me. Furthermore, your about page is very quirky (in a good way) and shows that you know how to make some interesting conversation! 😊😊 Hope you are having a marvellously jolly day so far and have an awesome 2015, Sir. 😊

  2. Thanks for visiting; I’ve been on a bit of a sabbatical writing “a borrowing of bones” but back to blogging with a lot of wonderful sites to catch up on. Hope you enjoy a walk through my village, I’ll be posting the poems through the first week of February.

    • Don’t sell yourself short – you’ve produced some excellent work! Your poetry feels good in the mouth – the words flow, don’t get caught on the tongue, which is not as easy as it sounds. I look forward to reading more. And thank you for stopping by. 🙂

  4. Life has been quite serendipitous this past week. My last post was about discovering a poem I wrote in 1972 when I was 14; Rod McKuen, whose poetry was a staple of my teenage years, died and you, yourself a poet, liked “America on my Mind”. I love the universe.

  6. Thank you for dropping by and liking one of my poems … when I looked at your poems, mine seem so childish an attempt. like someone said, your poems are elegant, raw and beautiful. have you published in print yet?

    • Thank you! I’ve had pieces appear in various publications, but have not yet published a book. But Dink Press is releasing my first chapbook in late spring. I’ll post details as they come in…

  8. I just read a few poems….I need a quieter place to read more. I am stunned. So beautiful and other things that I have no words for at this time. I lose words sometimes. I love your poems and look forward to some quiet contemplation reading them. So amazed to have met you here on my first attempt blogging.

  9. They say we all have someone who completes us like the other half of the apple, but some of your poems I just read exquisitely fit my soul! Birds, numbers, poetry and the little particles we notice in random corners of hearts and places, others will quickly dismiss and dust away.
