A poet considers the intersections of language and numbers, connections between disparate entities – the currents stirring within the Phoenician iteration of our letter M and the Japanese character for water, mizu, or the intertwined strands of solar wind and shadows, black-chinned hummingbirds and coastal death rituals – all, of course, while contemplating good food and that most magnificent of elixirs, beer, which may have been the very foundation of civilization. Or not.
Glad we made a connection. The pieces I read of yours are well written, full of life and spirit.

My brewing experience is much more limited than my tasting experience. 🙂 I think kits are a matter of personal taste, depending upon experience and what you want to brew. I’m afraid I can’t offer much advice.

Good morning, and thank you for your kind words. I don’t know what the problem would be. Perhaps your viewing settings? I discovered that I couldn’t access some blog likes unless I clicked on the post’s title. Could it be something so simple as that?

You’ve just very neatly explained why I love formal poetry, tucked in a tight syllabic, frequently rhyming, frame. I loved math and language equally in school. I don’t have a favorite poetry form, I just like a good word picture that perfectly fits. Fun to read, more fun when I’m successful at writing. Have you any suggestions for a form I could attempt (in English, of course)? I’m not fluent in other languages although I’ve experimented with some.

I love sonnets – brief, but not too, fairly easy to compose, but difficult to master. You might also try the sestina form. For something short but nevertheless challenging, cinquains are fun to attempt. You might search this site for a cinquain post.
