I find connection in both of these, especially “Sleepless.” This posted while I was granted the luxury of an adjustable bed, the only consolation for nights of nurses poking and prodding me. Fortunately, my corners held fewer shadows than what you are facing.

I was lucky with my recent hospitalization. The accommodations were excellent—the bed was comfortable, and the room even included a pull-out bed for visitors. A first for me.
