Congrats again, Bob! Lots to think about in the first two poems, which is probably why I so thoroughly enjoyed “Olive Oil Cake” – yes, I’m thinking, yes, do it!

Thanks, Lynne! I’ve made the lemon olive oil cake, which was delicious, even though I neglected to make the rosemary whipped cream. Mmmm. This may have to be on an upcoming menu.

Yummy! Brings back memories of my father-in-law (who has passed), a baker by profession, who could make all these amazing desserts like you!

I don’t bake often, but I can follow a recipe!

Three good poems worthy of publication. Two sad memories and a happy baking one

Thanks, Derek. Producing something sweet is a good way to counter the bitter. 🙂

I’m thinking heaven would be to inhale rosemary in every moment… And paired with bright, tart, sunshine- devine! Now that I’ve 🍋 on my mind…Marie’s-Nona’s-Italian-Lemon-Cheesecake. Whipped eggs, sour cream, formage and yes lemon, lots of lemon…
Well deserved!

I miss having rosemary bushes, and having as much as I needed at hand. Such a lovely fragrance. And flavor. Ooh, that cheesecake sounds perfect.

Just lovely again, dear Bob. What a run you are having. Mazel Tov & auguri! * I salute your imperfectionism. Paradoxically, I can’t imagine the things you create being any better. mi piace molto. * I am writing get-out-the-vote postcards to BIPOC voters in Virginia at risk of being removed from the rolls. Bingeing on The Bear as I do so. This evening I saw the Christmas episode. Holy Moly. I need a little vacation after that intensity. That Jamie Lee Curtis. I’m going to be sorry when it’s over. * I’ve been casting about for my next read & listen. *Whalefall *by Daniel Kraus has sucked me in. Do you know it? * Is it still popsicle season? I made a really good salad with beets last night. Lots of different greens, red beets, toasted walnuts, feta, avocado, dressed with lemon & olive oil. A nice change from my usual (lettuce/arugula/scallions/avocado/blue cheese/parmeggiano/lemon juice & olive oil) * Almost Friday. yay. Good night to you and Stephanie. love, Lida

Ciao, Lida. And grazie! Yeah, that episode wiped me out, too. It was so good, and so draining. I will reply at length later, via email.

Congrats! Each stands alone, but the mix definitely reflects how others “with” us affect our mood. Wonderful to have a companion worthy sharing thoughts (anticipating intriguing responses!) Hurrah for poetic expression.

Thanks, Jazz. Ah, poetry sparked by memories, some more distant than others. The cake, of course, is more recent. 😄

First one, Nothing Happening Again and Again, captured me with its distances small and large, all distances still.

Thanks, Frank. Some distances refuse to be measured.
