Day Fourteen, Tupelo Press 30/30 Project

My poem “Latitude” has now been posted among the Day Fourteen offerings of the Tupelo Press 30/30 Project (9 poets have agreed to write 30 poems apiece in 30 days, to raise funds for Tupelo Press, a non-profit literary publisher). Many thanks to Cate Terwilliger, who sponsored and provided the title.

Sometimes it’s enough to know
that a chicken preceded this egg,

that some crossed the Atlantic…

    • Thank you, Carisa. I’m always apprehensive about releasing something to the world so quickly, but it’s been a fun and worthy exercise. The title sponsorships have helped me more than I ever expected. Let’s hope they keep coming in!

  5. It’s difficult to change one’s process. I’ve been forced to adjust and write a different type of poem, to some extent, which has been intriguing. It will be interesting to see how I incorporate that into my regular routine and process.

  9. Love this one! Fun and easy and fluid. Did it emerge just like that or did you do some editing? I do admire you for staying with this project and, it seems to me, letting yourself go with the flow. You’re inspiring me to try 30 stories in 30 days – but it’ll have to wait until you’re finished as I’m having trouble keeping up with you. That’s the problem with going offline for a few days! Looking forward to reading your next ones.

    • Thanks, Susi. It needed quite a bit of editing, but overall went rather smoothly (everything I write needs a lot of editing). This project has been fun and challenging, and the sponsored titles have helped more than I ever expected.
