If you literally reverse translate the first two lines back into English, you could order it into “like a day-long line…”, a line that is a full day in length. Language play is so much fun.

Even the idea of language (verbs, nouns, etc.) blows my mind; that all cultures and groups have language functions but it is always along noun/verb lines. I think mankind’s greatest invention and possible his greatest tragedy is the word “I”…

Indeed! There is so much to think about and marvel at, it can be intellectually dizzying.
It is also yet another reason why I hate stupidity and ignorance… “ignorance” being the “ignore” part; knowing the truth and willfully ignoring/neglecting it because it does not center one’s biases. There is so much to wonder at int he world… and existential ignorance reduces it to a stupidity the nature of which Dietrich Bonheofer discussed so often: the malicious variety.
People forget that the alphabet is abstract art. The letter M does not appear in nature growing from a shrub! 🙂
