I learned a few days ago that my poem “In the Stillness of After” has been nominated by Sunlight Press for a “Best of the Net” award. I am grateful to editors Rudri Patel and Beth Burrell for this honor.

That is really great! Congratulations. BTW: the T-shirts are on their way…

Thank you, Liz. These nominations are always a long shot, but it’s gratifying to know that someone thought highly enough about it to actually nominate it. For me, the nomination is the award.

Congratulations! Definitely worthy the nomination. Stripped naked but strong, purposeful is a powerful metaphor/model – the rare storm survivor. Curious if inspired by a Texas after-storm tree??

Thank you, Jazz. This wasn’t inspired by a particular tree, but I’ve seen a number of such trees over the years. They are awesome, in every sense of the word.

Even if it’s a long shot, Bob, I wish you all the good wishes possible. As for the short poem: beautiful, lean, brutal even, from stem to stern (as ever). Good luck (what little I have, I’m sending your way). 🙂

This is my 19th such nomination (including Pushcarts), so I no longer hold my breath (which is difficult these days anyway 😄). I’m always receptive to good luck & vibes being sent my way. Thank you!
