I am thrilled that Only Poems has published six of my self-portrait poems, with an interview. Editors Karan Kapoor and Shannan Mann have, against all odds, curated this beautiful, top notch weekly publication, featuring well known poets as well as those who live in obscurity (me). I am in awe of their dedication, and am very grateful that they saw fit to feature my poems.
Good to hear from you, amigo!

Thank you, Julie. I was really pleased with the acceptance, and am amazed at the amount of work they have to put into every week’s feature. I am in awe!

This is great, Bob, especially the depth of the interview regarding each poem – and all are exceptional. Congratulations.

I was really pleased and a bit intimidated at the depth of the interview questions. Most of the poems were written 4 or 5 years ago, and had been rejected multiple times. It was good to find their proper home!

Thanks, Ron. The day-to-day has taken on additional meaning lately. But good news: Friday’s CT scan results were outstanding!

I love this group, but especially the hole. which plays into my fondness for circles of all kinds, especially the ones that are empty and therefore are places where anything is possible.
I really enjoyed reading about your process too, which is much how I imagine it to be–going where it leads you.
Congratulations! (K)

The joy exists, for me, in the exploration, in being led to a destination I’d not otherwise encounter. I’ve tried writing to a particular, predetermined end, but that’s just not fun, and is pointless.

I agree–I never know where I’m going in art, writing, or life for that matter.

Impressive as “set” … my favorite is Self-Portrait As Root for the phrase “From me, you grow”. Yup, Bob, from your poetry I have grown! In curiosity of possibilities from skeletal lines leaving ample gaps for interpretation. Almost surely also in my own poetressing. Much gratitude. And congratulations on this showcase with the openness of your A’s to the Q’s.

I so much enjoyed reading the interview linked from this post. As you say above, the interviewer’s questions were good, and I appreciated the chance to hear you talk about your process and outlook.
Thinking of you.
