All three of those are amazing. What wonderful imagery.

Thanks, Betty. I’ve spent many hours feeding a wood burning stove, watching the stories playing out in the flames. Those days are over, but I cherish them.

A wonderful trio to have in this inaugural issue; congratulations! The issue and the magazine are very promising. Got to love an editor who invites “anything that seems too weird to submit anywhere” yet the pieces all fit together so well!

Thanks, SJ. I’m always looking for new publications to try out, and Hibiscus matched up rather well. 🙂

I especially like Barstow. Between memory and loss seems to be a well-inhabited location these days. (K)

It would be easy to lose oneself there, but the present space and time, with its cherished inhabitants, offers even more!

I too notice the three poems seeming a nice set with each working in a similar mode. I’ll be the one who picks “Even the Darkness” as their favorite tonight — probably because it enticed me musically, a primary way many poems draw me in.

Thanks, Frank. I do strive to make poems sound good, and it’s gratifying that you (especially you, with your experience with and enthusiasm for music) found the music in it.
