Poems Up at Taos Poetry Journal

Truchas Morning 2

My poems, “The Mathematics of Dying” and “Reliquary” are live, with a cover reveal of my debut full-length collection, Our Loveliest Bruises, at the Taos Journal of Poetry. I am indebted to editor Catherine Strisik for her generosity and multiple kindnesses over the years.

  1. Congratulations, Robert!

The poems are brilliant per usual. But the cover of your upcoming book is astounding! The colors and layout really pop! It’s a great cover for what I know will be superb writing!

  2. Truly engaged with your grackle-watching (as philosophy & meditation). Also, a little bird of other dimensions tells me it’s your birthday – hope you are celebrating and planning yet another and another …

    Hugs, Jazz

  3. Seeing the cover of the book makes it wonderfully real! Congratulations on these poems as well, in one of my favorite journals. “Reliquary” felt incredibly personal to me; playing Steve’s guitar elicits a lot of feelings that only your poem gave form.

  4. Two fine poems and a book to look forward to.

I appreciated the chord harmony notes in “Reliquary.” Take away the third, add a 4th or 2nd, and one of my favorite forms arrives, the suspended chord — neither major nor minor, able to move in either direction, or to stay there in a land that’s neither.
