the subtle shift of shard
and floor
laid between night’s
fall
and the morning’s first
glow. Take this
lantern. Set it
on the wall. Remove
the glass. Do not
light the candle.

Timely reading this on the eve of Winter Solstice … here’s to productive use of the extra dark, may we all wait with patience and w/o contrived light. Also w/o shards on the floor, hopefully (as probable we’ll stir around a bit during the dark!)
