A handful of my poems have been published since January, and in the grip of my illness I did not properly acknowledge the publications. I hope to make up for this, at least in part, by providing links to these journals.
My poems “Sometimes I Rain,” “Yesterday’s Ache,” and “Thunder” were published in Samjoko’s winter issue. I am grateful to the editors for taking these pieces.
You are magnificent!

If I am, it’s only because your presence makes me so.

Thanks, Liz. Written in memory of my friend Prentiss Moore, who died too soon, some 25 years ago.

I feel the second one most viscerally. Why didn’t I? Know.
And the third one is like the answer to Neruda’s Book of Questions. (K)

The second one is the most personal one, or perhaps the most revealing one, to me. I was so busy, so consumed with other matters…

I am in chase of your natural gift Robert…a story teller… a poet…an exceptional observer of the human condition. Congrats and many blessings on your life journey my friend !

Congratulations (yet again!) – these are all multi-reads.
Sometimes I Rain: “If she could see me now ..” triggers all sorts of inner swirling … several in my past would just not believe the me I am now. Likely none would’ve deemed me compliant, but certainly found fault with my hesitance to say what I really wanted. Love your solitary raven … solitary periodically one of my personal essentials.
Yesterday’s Ache: Very stirring reminder to savor what’s alive and kicking in the moment … none of it permanent … including our fragile selves.
Thunder: Still rereading, puzzling …

Thanks, Jazz. It’s good to recognize the past for what it was, but the now is ever so much more interesting to me.

Fine work. “Yesterday’s Ache” of course resonates with most of us older folks (younger ones too, sometimes). And the what the thunder DIDN’T SAY poem is so well done.
