Ha! I had fun with this one, especially referring to the “Hick from French Lick.” Little did I know when I wrote the poem that I would one day have occasion to drive through that urban metropolis!

I believe that many poets are turned off from attempting forms, for fear that the rigidity of the rules will stifle their creativity. For me, forms force me to think differently, which opens new doorways. The trick is to let that occur.
