I like the feeling of suspension, of between the worlds, in this piece – the gate neither open nor closed, as you say. And I feel the poignancy of the last lines. Congrats, Bob!

The move to Indiana from Texas was a radical shift for me, but ultimately what mattered most was not the place, but the person I was with. 🙂

I was thinking the same thing about that gate (or call it a threshold) this morning. Congratulations! (K)

Thanks, Kerfe. Indiana and Indianapolis are still mysteries to me. The pandemic followed by my illness really affected my interactions.

I think the pandemic is a clear dividing line of something or for something…I can’t quite figure it out myself.

Wonderful. I love liminal things. Or as a character says in a book I read, interstitial.

All Tomorrow’s Parties, Gibson. Sequel to Idoru. Wonderful stories.

Somehow I’ve missed out on Gibson. But I knew someone who played poker with Bruce Sterling. Ha!
