Scarecrow Pretends: Robert Okaji’s Metallurgy

This is kinda fun. The Slag Review published “Scarecrow Pretends” back in January, and now this has appeared on the Long River Review’s blog. I’m always grateful when someone extends the life of one of my poems. Thank you, Benjamin Schultz.

  1. A nice little overview, Bob. I’m glad he noticed and noted how your poetry quietly folds in deadpan humor. As I was mowing grass, I was thinking about how fitting you’d be as a Texas Poet Laureate and then moving onto National Poet Laureate. Occasionally I have a prophetic moment. I sincerely hope that’s one of them!
