That last half of the poem – so powerful! What a turn! ๐ Congrats, Bob!

Thanks, Lynne. Thereโs so much joy and hope in this world, but sometimes the darkness seems everywhere. How do we keep fighting it?

That’s the big question and I bet there are as many answers as people. For myself, it’s not about fighting it, it’s about letting light shine somehow wherever we go, whatever we do. Exercising that. Short and simple, I know, but I can only start where I am, heart and mind. Not oblivious to darkness, rather carving a path through it, maybe something of heaven – the inbetween of everything and nothing in your poem.

There is much wisdom in your thoughts, Lynne. May we all find that path. ๐

Congratulations, Bob. We may live with darkness, but it’s important to keep the light in our sights.

Incredibly powerful. Amazing how each line gathers momentum – like bullets in the air seeking. Wow. The whole concept wrapped up in โnothing of heaven | Or everything.

A gem, Bob. I especially like the imagery of the juvenile cowbird/blackbird/red epaulets.

A couple of years ago, it was a male cardinal feeding a cowbird. ๐

No comment on male intelligence; those cowbirds are shifty, bless their clever little bird brains!

Those last five lines accelerate and accumulate, until I am left with what passes for prayer. Powerful ending.
