What a beautiful poem, poignant yet full of solace! Congrats, Bob (that should win one of those Pushcart or Best of the Net prizes!) and I also love the picture you put with it.

Thanks, Lynne. Four years and 23 rejections later, it finally finds a home!

Lately I’ve also been checking how long it took an accepted poem to finally get there – you’re way ahead of me lol, sometimes it’s been 20 years! Still, it’s the same poem eh and it finally found the right home๐

I sure canโt figure it out. It seems that my best writing gets rejected the most. LOL

Okay, now you’ve given me something to remind myself when it gets rejected: maybe this is my best writing and it needs to find its best home!

I love your poem, particularly these lines:
“There is joy to find,
to break into shareable pieces, and scatter
everywhere”

“What astounds is the continuing”–the earth really has no need of us at all, in fact, we are often detrimental, yet here we still are. Astounding is just the right word. (K)

So true, Kerfe. As you said, โwe are often detrimental, yet here we are.โ Amazing!

Oh! I love the image of:
“I once
walked through a wildflower meadow among
thousands of bees burdened under the weight
of pollen.”
