So relatable! Congrats again, Bob!

Thanks, Lynne. The poem was true to the moment, though to be honest, I don’t feel that death is a one-way, ultimately lonely alley.

I’m really glad you qualified that! And isn’t it a wonder we see our many selves or one self with many perspectives at different times in our life, through our poems?

And there are so many selves to consider—always changing, never static.

That first line! I have to keep telling myself. It doesn’t make me feel better really but it does make me feel less alone.

Now there’s a poem that looks the reader straight in the eye and suffers no fool. Thanks for the nudge over to Paul Celan. It’s impossible for me to scratch your itch Robert but if our relationship was more than this flight of words between strangers and could include a table and pilsners, I promise I would scratch that itch if you asked.

Thank you, Chris! Pilsners would definitely satisfy one of my itches!

You may own it, but I hope it’s a good while before you reach the end of that alley.
Congratulations, Bob.

Thanks, Ken. I don’t know the alley’s length. I learned just a few days ago that I don’t qualify for a particular clinical trial, and my options are limited at this point. But I feel good today, and I just pulled a pie from the oven, so all is good.

That, and pie! I’ve just baked my third pumpkin pie in less than two weeks, because doing so gives me joy. And we get to eat it!

I’m behind you–only two pumpkin pies so far.

I’ve got a hankering for a bourbon fudge pie, so we’ll see what happens. 😄
