Curtain
Adept at withdrawal, it retreats.
How appropriate, we think,
that its body curls
with the wind’s
tug, offering
only the
slightest
resistance. Then
it returns,
bringing to mind
the habitual offender
whose discomfiture
lies in choice,
the fear
of enclosure
removed. The
forward glance.
And back again,
whispering its
edict: concede, reclaim.
Give and take. We are as one.

This is so good! I find curtains and their breeze dancing mesmerizing.

Thank you, Diana. They’ve always fascinated me. Guess I’m weird that way. 🙂

Poets are NEVER weird (said no one ever…). Haha! Take care Robert!

What a lovely piece! I can imagine so many different things besides curtains affected by this similar dance. 🙂

observing the slightest gentlest motions and giving them a voice alluding to how we can be better as humans, this was enchanting.
